And It Simply Was (III)

By: Fransiskus Borgias M (EFBE@fransisbm)

(20-11-97):

On that morning, after a few while of personal reflection,

I looked down to the rock

upon which I stood;

and there

upon the rock

I saw a certain tiny mountain jonquil

as if “looking up at” me,

smiling – what a beautiful smile -

and whispering some misteryous messages.

At that time

for a little while

I forgot the majesty of the mountain top

and the beautiful valley

full of breathtaking and brilliant Edelweiss,

because

I was really concentrating on the delicate,

and trembling beauty

of this single mountain flower.

What a lovely flower,

beauty in it simplicity,

beauty in its mysterius natural unchained melody.

Yes, it simply “stood” or existed there

in the freedom of the mountain top morning fresh air

glorifying majestic God with its whole existence,

it seemed so total in its praise.

I know its existence was so brief,

fragile and vulnerable.

And in my religious-devotional sense (sensus religiosus)

I thought that its very existence

was certainly an act of praise

as every man’s life should be.

Yes, it stood there calmly.

It stood there silently.

And it did not worry about

what it would accomplish in life or

what it would leave behind.

Nor did it fear for its own brief

and vulnerable existence.

It simply was.

Yes, it simply was.

What a happyness,

what a beauty.

And then I wondered:

How much more should man

be a witness to the glory of simply existing?

He would live forever.

His existence alone was enough,

and he was glorious in himself,

in its simple existence,

itself apart from any work he may produce

or any life he may engender.

But man had to learn that liberating truth

by meeting God in his own core,

in his own heart,

in his own inner heart.

Yes, to be sure,

God’s love and acceptance of him

made possible

his own self-love and self-acceptance.

Because God has promised that

“I will never forget you My people.

I have carved you on the palm of My hand,

I will never forget you,

I will not leave you orphan,

I will never forget My own.”

What a wonderful promise.
