The Mystery of the Mountain Top

By: Fransiskus Borgias M (EFBE@fransisbm)

(22-11-97):

After a few while of natural reflection,

I thought then

that was the secret

and the mystery of the Mountain top.

All was serene and peacefull

on that wild and precarious mountainside

because everything merely was,

yes just because everything merely was.

Everything was precious

just because they simply were.

What a life witness,

what a lesson for life.

There on the mountain top,

no bush had to justify its being there

for example

by “working” harder than the other bushes.

It simply was.

It simply grew

with its own inner life and rhythm

and lifted its little-short branches

towards the sky

imagined from the time of immemorial

a dwelling place of eternal high God,

yes toward the sky

they are lifted their “hands” and

their “eyes,”

in an everlasting praise,

in a never ending prayer.

I learn something a very important lesson

from that mountain tiny jonquil.

Yes,

that very little flower at my feet felt no jealousy at all

that I was taller or maybe monstrous

and could move about at will,

while it was only rooted in that one spot of ground

for all its existence.

But why then did man

endlessly strive hard to be what he was not

and count his own worth in terms of his success?

Here I had a dream of humanity.

And in my dream

I wished that every human being were an inner man,

were a mountain man,

were a man of inner soul

so that they could look at this mountain jonquil –

and it simply was -

yes it simply was

and could see everything,

and especially himself.

Thanks a lot

oh tiny mountain jonquil

cause you have taught me

an important lesson for my life.

A simple life

just because of the fact

that I am.
